Technically I made this swim suit last summer, but after wearing it one time I wasn’t crazy about the fit. I loved the fabric and style of it though, so before our annual family trip I decided to just make a couple small tweaks to it and felt like it fit much better.
This swim suit is actually a vintage pattern of my moms that I found while going through some of her old patterns last summer.
The original back is thin spaghetti straps, but I wanted something a bit more secure and less likely to stretch while wearing it around so I made thick straps.
I love the fabric. I got this at Joann Fabric last summer and lined it with a nude swimsuit fabric liner.
I originally had added a top liner from a cheap bikini top I found at Walmart and cut up, but it was too stiff and didn’t move well with the suit which made me always need to adjust it and well, we all know thats no fun while trying to relax and feel confident. So i cut it out and prefer it much better without the liner. And of course, I had to ensure it would pass the swim test. 🙂 Check! Thanks for checking it out. I would love to hear if you’ve ever attempted swimwear in the comments, or if you have any questions on how to get started.
