I had another fun round of pattern testing this week. This time it was a cute little wrap skirt that sews up very quickly and doesn’t use a ton of fabric. win, win!
My waist measurement put me right between a size 10 and a size 12. I went with the 10, but I think I would recommend going with the larger size if you fall in the middle. You can always gather your skirt more, and recut a smaller waist band if it seems too big, but for a wrap skirt you want to make sure everything is covered and it’s not going to cross over as much if you go with a smaller size.
The pattern has a french seam in the back and enclosed seams on the waistband, so it’s a great finished off look even if you don’t have a serger.
I sewed up two of them. The first one was some fabric I just had laying around and I wanted to make sure everything looked good and Kim didn’t need to make any changes to the pattern before buying fabric. After the first one came out great I bought this fun yellow fabric at Hobby Lobby. I found a perfect matching blue knit and make a self drafted shirt to go with my new skirt.
