In October Art Gallery Fabrics announced a challenge to create a bag made from Art gallery fabric with the main fabric coming from April Rhodes Bound collection. You can find my submission and vote for it by clicking it with a heart and repinning it here. The bags have all been uplaoded to a pinterest board. So click on over to their board and check out all the amazing bags that were submitted!
You can definitely pin it directly from my blog if you want to but in order for it to count towards the contest you will need to do it on their pinterest board so they can keep track of all the votes 🙂
I have purchased Art Gallery Fabrics before and already knew that they are excellent. Seriously the best knit option I have found yet! They also just released a canvas option that I am very excited to try out. For this challenge I had a gift card to The Fat Quarter shop so I decided to order a collection of bound fabrics from them. I paired that with some suede leather I scored last winter from the thrift store in the form of a skirt. I used notions and hardware and lace passed down to me from my late grandmother and I just love how my bag turned out in the end!
The bottom is reinforced with leather to make it sturdy and more durable.
Here is an inside pocket with a lace accent just the right size for my ipad to slip intoI quilted this strap to make it a bit more cushioned. It can be clipped on if you want to flip the entire bag inside out and wear it cross body. I made two complete bags and then flipped one inside of the other stitched them together around the bottom and added the drawstring at the top.
